Workshop
The following have accepted to speak:
Georgia Benkart (Wisconsin)
Date:
April 3 - 9, 2005
Lectures: Monday, April 4, morning, to Friday, April 9, afternoon
Place: Lectures will be held in the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford. Accomodation will be available at Somerville College, which is less than five minutes walking from the Mathematical Institute.
Organizing committee: Karin Erdmann, Steffen Koenig, Paul Martin, Changchang Xi
Contact and 'local organization': Steffen Koenig, sck5@mcs.le.ac.uk, Department of Mathematics, University of Leicester, Leicester LE1 7RH, phone: 0044 116 252 5670
Registration: Registration is now open. Participants, who wish to use accomodation at Somerville College, should make a formal booking by email to Steffen Koenig. Please include the following information: arrival and departure date, type of room to be booked. We have blocked standard rooms in the Vaughan building of Somerville College, at a cost of 36.90 pounds per night. These are single rooms with a wash hand basin and shared bathroom and kitchen (the ratio for sharing the facilities is one set of facilities to five delegates). The price includes a full English breakfast. (There is also a limited number of rooms available in the Dorothy Hodgkin building, at a cost of 50.40 pounds a night. These rooms are arranged in suites of two single rooms sharing a bathroom and kitchen.) Participants who prefer to book their own accomodation, may use the Oxford City Council Accomodation Guide . (Participants staying elsewhere still should register by email to Steffen Koenig.)
Payment for rooms at Somerville College has to be made directly to the organizers, during the workshop. Unfortunately, this excludes the possibility of paying by credit card. Participants staying at Somerville College find here information provided by the college. More information can be found on the website of Somerville College. In addition to the plenary lectures, there will be a limited number of contributed talks scheduled for the workshop. Participants interested in contributing a talk should email Steffen Koenig, giving some information about the suggested topic.
Support: The workshop is supported by the academic interchange network Algebras, Representations and Applications, which is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. Additional support comes from a Royal Society exchange project.
Limited support is available for participants, in particular for graduate students and young researchers. Typically we would expect the support to be restricted to accomodation expenses. Please contact Steffen Koenig, if you wish to apply for support.
